Είμαι το “Αλεξάνδρειον Αθλητικόν Μέλαθρον Θεσσαλονίκης”, ένα σύγχρονο στρογγυλό κτίριο και βρίσκομαι στη Θεσσαλονίκη, στην καρδιά της πόλης, μέσα στο χώρο της Διεθνούς Έκθεσης .Έχω πάρει το όνομά μου από τον Μέγα Αλέξανδρο, αλλά είμαι γνωστό και ως «Παλαί ντε Σπορ», γιατί για την οροφή μου εργάστηκαν οι Γάλλοι που κατασκεύασαν το “Palais des Sports de Gerland” της Λυών στη Γαλλία. Η κατασκευή μου ξεκίνησε τον Οκτώβριο του 1960 σε σχέδια του αρχιτέκτονα Πέτρου Τζανέτου. Τα εγκαίνιά μου έγιναν στις 29 Ιουνίου 1966 από τον Βασιλιά Κωνσταντίνο. Ήμουν το πρώτο μεγάλο κλειστό γήπεδο της Ελλάδας και παρέμεινα το μεγαλύτερο έως και το 1985, όταν ολοκληρώθηκε η κατασκευή του Σταδίου Ειρήνης και Φιλίας. Αρχικά χωρούσα 5.576 θεατές, αλλά μετά την ανακαίνιση του 2003 η χωρητικότητά μου μειώθηκε στις περίπου 4.800 θέσεις. Η κεντρική μου σάλα έχει ονομαστεί Σάλα «Nick Galis» από τον σπουδαίο Έλληνα καλαθοσφαιριστή Νίκο Γκάλη. Έως το 2000, αποτελούσα κοινή έδρα των ομάδων του ΠΑΟΚ και του Άρη, μετά όμως από την μετακόμιση του ΠΑΟΚ στο καινούριο του γήπεδο, χρησιμοποιούμαι αποκλειστικά από την ομάδα του Άρη. Τέλος, φιλοξενώ και άλλες αθλητικές όπως και καλλιτεχνικές δραστηριότητες πέρα από το μπάσκετ.

Hello! I am the "Alexandreion Athletic Melathron of Thessaloniki". I'm named after Alexander the Great, but I'm also known as 'Palais de Sport'. I am in Thessaloniki, in the heart of the city, in the area of the International Exhibition. On August 26, 1959, the state decided to build an indoor gymnasium. However, my construction started a year later. I was inaugurated on June 29, 1966 by King Constantine. I was the first large indoor stadium in Greece and remained the largest until 1985, when the construction of the Stadium of Peace and Friendship was completed. I originally held 5,576 spectators, but after the 2003 renovation, my capacity was reduced to around 4,800 seats. My main hall has been named "Nick Galis" Hall after the great Greek basketball player Nikos Galis. Until 2000, I was the joint home of the PAOK and Aris teams, but after PAOK moved to its new stadium, I have been exclusively used by the Aris team. Finally, I host other sports as well as artistic activities beyond basketball.

Ich bin der "Alexandreon Athletic Club of Thessaloniki". Ich habe meinen Namen von Alexander dem Großen, aber ich bin auch als "Palais des Sports" bekannt. Ich befinde mich in Thessaloniki, im Herzen der Stadt, im Herzen des Internationalen Messegeländes. Am 26. August 1959 beschloss der Staat, eine Sporthalle zu bauen. Mit meinem Bau wurde jedoch erst ein Jahr später begonnen. Meine Einweihung fand am 29. Juni 1966 durch König Konstantin statt. Ich war das erste große Hallenstadion in Griechenland und blieb das größte bis 1985, als der Bau des Stadions des Friedens und der Freundschaft abgeschlossen wurde. Ursprünglich fasste das Stadion 5.576 Zuschauer, aber nach der Renovierung im Jahr 2003 wurde die Kapazität auf etwa 4.800 Plätze reduziert. Meine Haupthalle wurde nach dem großen griechischen Basketballspieler Nick Galis Nick Galis Hall genannt. Bis zum Jahr 2000 war ich eine gemeinsame Heimstätte für die Mannschaften von PAOK und Aris, aber nachdem PAOK in sein neues Stadion umgezogen ist, wird ich ausschließlich von der Mannschaft von Aris genutzt. Außerdem finden hier neben Basketball auch andere Sportarten und künstlerische Aktivitäten statt.

Je suis l’ "Alexandreion Athletic Melathron de Thessalonique". Je porte le nom d'Alexandre le Grand, mais je suis aussi connu sous le nom de « Palais de Sport». Je suis à Thessalonique, au cœur de la ville, à l'intérieur du parc des expositions internationales. Le 26 août 1959, l’État décide de construire un gymnase couvert. Cependant, ma construction a commencé un an plus tard. J'ai été inauguré le 29 juin 1966 par le roi Constantin. J'ai été le premier grand stade couvert de Grèce et je suis resté le plus grand jusqu'en 1985, lorsque le Stade de la Paix et de l'Amitié a été achevé. À l'origine, j'accueillais 5 576 spectateurs, mais après la rénovation de 2003, ma capacité a été réduite à environ 4 800 places. Ma salle principale a été nommée Salle « Nick Galis » en l'honneur du grand basketteur grec Nikos Galis. Jusqu'en 2000, j'étais le terrain commun des équipes PAOK et ARIS, mais après le déménagement du PAOK dans son nouveau stade, je suis exclusivement utilisé par l'équipe ARIS. Enfin, j'accueille d'autres activités sportives ainsi que des événements artistiques en plus du basketball.
